Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Chocolate chip cookies are one of the best desserts! So simple and easy to make, and so delicious!
This recipe came from my best friend's family. These cookies are so chewy and soft in the middle! You will love them!

Just to set things straight, I am one of those dietitians who LOVES dessert. Ask any of my friends. Life is better with dessert.
Prep: 15 minutes
Bake: 8-12 minutes
Yield: 20-24 cookies
Ingredients
1/2 cup room temperature unsalted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 & 1/4 cup flour (whole wheat or white)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Equipment required
Mixing bowl
Small bowl
Spatula
Electric mixer
Oven sheet pan
Parchment paper (optional)
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 375 F.
Beat butter until smooth
Add both sugars, mix well
Add egg and vanilla mix well
In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder.
Add slowly and mix into to wet mixture.
Once fully mixed, stir in chocolate chips.
Using a teaspoon, place cookie dough on sheet pan (covered with optional parchment paper).
Bake for 8-12 minutes, until golden brown on bottom.
Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
Enjoy a cookie on its own or with a glass of milk!
